Brook Besor exists to offer Christians the opportunity to get the best out of their placement overseas. Staying with us they can work through their experience from the joys and and highs to the more difficult times with the goal of helping them go forward either to return to the field or into a new direction. We offer the opportunity to stay for a few days so that stories can be fully told and the process of debriefing can be more thorough. No everyone stays but those who do feel the benefits of time spent.
We have 6 trustees
Rob & Alison Watson – who are involved in the day to day running and Rob serves as the Secretary to the trust.
David and Pat Ashby – who have extensive mission and business experience and are members of Victoria Baptist Church in Eastbourne. Pat is a trained and qualified counsellor with years of experience with the YMCA and with member care. David has spent many years as the trustee of various charities and consultant to organisations working in Central Asia and Restricted Access Countries. David is the Chair of the board of trustees.
Jim & Edna Leftwich – Jim has extensive senior business and charity experience and has been involved with Edna in Amani UK a charity supporting AIDS affected families in Western Kenya. Jim and Edna have a great deal of experience working with Africans and they have travelled extensively in Kenya supporting and helping local people. Jim also works with CMS in Oxford and both Jim and Edna are part of Holy Trinity Church of England Church in Hazlemere, Buckinghamshire. Jim is the Treasurer to the trust and we were delighted when he was awarded the OBE in 2013.
As a Christian organisation we hold to the Basis of Faith set out by the Evangelical Alliance and can be found on their website.
