What is Counselling?

What we do - Counselling

What we do – Counselling

Sometimes changes in life circumstance, the pressures of living in cross cultural environments far from home and familiar places and familiar people can bring to light or exacerbate difficulties with coping or relating to others.

These issues are often linked to our upbringing, relationships and events in our lives and counselling can help us to understand why we do what we do and how to manage that when we face stress or difficult situations.

Alison Watson is a professional counsellor and member of and Registered Therapist with the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP), has a BA Honours Degree in Counselling (accredited through Roehampton University).  Alison is an integrative Counsellor, and uses a variety of models (Person Centred, Psychodynamic or CBT) and methods according to the unique needs of the individual. Alison can also offer creative therapies as an alternative way of processing issues.

Ali has her own private practice and is an experienced couples and individual client therapist.

Residential counselling with Brook Besor is available, but would be limited in intensity, as counselling requires time to process each session.  People who would like counselling to continue beyond their stay can do so through Skype counselling sessions which could be held weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.  Please get in touch if you would like to know more.
